Wilson Hayes

January 11, 1941 - November 10, 2025

On Nov. 10, 2025, our Hayes family tree lost another branch-- Wilson Chester Hayes at the age of 84, joined his father Henry Hayes, his mother Mary (MacWhirter) and all the rest of their children in heaven.

Willie has reunited with his wife Beverley (Fazakas), the love of his life. From the moment they met, they were inseparable.

Willie is survived by his three children, Kathy (Perry), Deanna (Chris) and Stephen (Tricia); six grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren. He is predeceased by one great-grandson, Carlisle Kostuk.

He is also survived by his sister-in-laws, Sue Hayes and Geri Fazakas, and many nieces and nephews.

Wilson was born on January 11, 1941 in Hopetown, Quebec and lived most of his life in Niagara until he returned home to Hopetown in 2019. Willie served in the Royal Canadian Navy at CFB Shearwater. He worked for over 25 years at National Grocers and then retired from the City of Niagara Falls. He enjoyed his hobby farm in Ridgeway, loved gardening, bird watching, camping, travelling and helping others.

He was always a kind and gentle man that loved to tease and make people laugh. He watched all the Leafs and Jays games faithfully. He made friends wherever he went and will truly be missed by many.

The family would like to thank Doctor Basque and the amazing staff at the CHSLD of New Carlisle for their loving care of "Mr Wilson".

A Celebration of Life will take place at a later date.

Professional services have been entrusted to the Rejean Bélanger Funeral Home Inc., a subsidiary of the HG Division network certified Distinction by the Corporation des Thanatologues du Québec and by the Bureau de Normalisation du Québec.

The management and staff of HG Division offer their deepest condolences to the family and thank them for their trust.
