À sa résidence de New-Richmond, le 25 août 2024, John Émile Diotte s'est éteint à l'âge de 94 ans. Reconnu pour son amour des chevaux et le bonheur qu'ils lui procuraient, John était toujours de bonne humeur, apportant chaleur et joie à tous ceux qu'il rencontrait.
Fils de feu Bertha Cormier et de feu Jean Baptiste Diotte, John laisse à son épouse bien-aimée, Christine Coull Diotte, un souvenir profondément empreint d'amour, ainsi qu'à sa fille Anne-Marie (Jennifer) et à son petit-fils Sheldon. Il est maintenant réuni avec son frère et ses sœurs : feu Alonzo Diotte, feu Sylvia Durette et feu Clarisse Landry.
La passion de John pour les chevaux était bien connue, car on le trouvait souvent en train de les admirer dès qu'il en avait l'occasion. Sa nature joyeuse et son amour pour ces nobles animaux ont fait le bonheur de tous ceux qui l'ont connu, et sa mémoire sera chérie par tous ceux qui ont partagé sa vie.
Il laisse également dans le deuil ses belles-sœurs, beaux-frères, neveux et nièces ainsi que de nombreux autres parents et amis.
La famille recevra les condoléances le vendredi 13 septembre 2024 à la Maison funéraire Henri Thibodeau de New-Richmond, de 19 h à 21 h. Les funérailles auront lieu le lendemain, samedi 14 septembre, à 11 h au cimetière de Carleton. Un petit rassemblement avec rafraîchissements suivra à la Légion royale canadienne de Cascapédia-St-Jules, 55, chemin Gallagher, à compter de 12 h 30.
