Just before 3 pm, on November 23, and in her 93rd year, our beloved Dede left this world.
Our family’s matriarch, Ella was courageous and resilient beyond measure throughout her long life. She faced many hardships with strength, determination and a strong will to live an engaged life. She leaves us now to follow her example.
A long career with Robin Jones and Whitman, and a lifelong passion for volunteerism and service to her community meant that Ella was known to many people on her beloved Gaspe coast and beyond.
Ella is predeceased by her husband Lorne Beck, her brother Richard (Dick) Briand, her sister Lois Briand Williams and many cherished friends.

Her deepest love and ongoing support were for her family.
She is survived and already deeply missed by her brother Gary Briand (Karen);
her devoted children: Richard (Leslie), Kathleen (Stephen Coull), and Helen.
She leaves behind her cherished grandchildren: Aidan and Kellie Beck; Justin and Christopher Hall; Stephanie, Madelyn, Matthew and Allison Coull;
and Caroline Berard.
She will also be missed by her five great-grandchildren, as well as her lifelong friend Marguerite Rooney.

Visitation will be Wednesday, November 29, 2023, from 7 to 9 pm at Maison Funeraire Rejean Belanger in Paspebiac.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Eglise Notre-Dame de Paspébiac on Thursday, November 30, at 10 am. Following the Mass, Ella will be laid to rest in her beloved St. Patrick’s Parish cemetery in Douglastown, Qc.
Professional services have been entrusted to the Salon Funéraire Réjean Bélanger, a subsidiary of the HG Division network certified Distinction by the Corporation des
thanatologues du Quebéc and by the Bureau de normalization du Québec.
